Cyclone Engineering Projects (Pty) Ltd (CEP), an accredited BBBEE company, was founded during 2007 on demand by the mining industry to operate and manage cycloned TSFs, based on the ongoing development in this field.

A cornerstone of the CEP operating philosophy is the development and maintenance of close working relationships with our clients. This approach ensures speeder communication, better understanding and ultimately, superior end results.

Our History

Cyclone Projects & Consulting (CP&C) is a consulting company which mainly operates outside the borders of South Africa and is the main shareholder of other tailings related companies in the Group of Companies. Cyclone Engineering Projects (CEP), a subsidiary of CP&C, has established itself over the past 15 years, at the forefront of developments in cycloning techniques for Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) on the African continent. CEP has furthermore established itself as one of the major TSF operating and managing companies in South Africa, while CP&C covers mainly TSF operations management & consulting on TSFs outside the borders of South Africa.

The continuous and increasing pressure exerted on mining companies in the surge for competing companies in the field of TSF operations and management has led the drive that CP&C and CEP are placed to ensure that every aspect of TSF management and operations is as efficient, safe and environmentally acceptable as possible. Both the companies follow the meticulous principles of the Global Industry Standards on Tailings Management Systems (GISTMS).

With the companies operating in the Mining Sector, CEP have made significant advancements in residue disposal methods. We have successfully implemented cycloning techniques for a wide range of residue streams, including phosphate, copper, magnetite, gold, diamond (Kimberlite), chrome, platinum, fluorspar, and base minerals. CEP operates all types of TSFs, i.e. day wall paddocking, spigotting and cycloning. One of our major breakthroughs was the development of the patented (SA Patent No. 2011/03614 and 2013/06139) vacuum cycloning method. This innovation has proven to be highly successful, resulting in substantial cost savings for the mining industry.
