Penstock Decant System
The penstock decant system is operational on majority of the tailings dams and are used to remove process water from the facility to be used in the plant again. The penstock is allowed to reach heights of between 12 and 15 meters before being replaced, this is as a result of the tower becoming unstable with the chance of failing.
The installation is normally done while the facilities that are temporarily non-operational but they can be installed on active dams when circumstances allow this.
