Piezometer Installation
Piezometer stand pipe gives indications of the phreatic levels inside the tailings storage facilities and this is used for dam safety reports. Newly constructed TSF’s will have piezometers installed as per the design criteria while the already constructed dams will have to replace piezometers if they are blocked which is determined from the upset test which are done on a yearly basis or as required.
Piezometers can also be installed if there is an area of concern on the TSF and needs to be monitored for stability reasons.
